HOW TO: Copy a CD-ROM in Ubuntu

Here is a quick tip on how to make a copy of CD/DVD when the standard CD/DVD burning software is not available. We can use the 'dd' command to copy the CD/DVD as an ISO image file on your harddrive.



 dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/cdimage.iso
